The pandemic closed down our machine shop. We had to sell our expensive waterjet, milling machines, laser, and other manufacturing machines.

When the pandemic started, sales inquiries and purchases came to a dead stop.

We obtained a loan to build out the remaining inventory of stainless steel CO2 extraction and reservoirs, pressure fittings, caster beams and other components. That remaining built-out inventory has now been sold.

On a personal level, my innovation efforts are now geared towards CO2 heat pumps, turbines, and other devices outside of the botanicals industry.

We found a huge demand for a $10,000 extraction machine. However, we found better profit through selling less machines for a higher price, with a higher extraction output.

The demand from customers is for production. If you can show return on investment, then a machine under $100,000 can be manufactured and sold.

For the 10L sized machine (most copied in the industry), we found a high demand. Experimenting with price points, we could sell a $39,000 10L CO2 Extraction machine all day long.

There was a large demand for small systems, but the technology can easily be copied, so we opted to sell only huge systems. When we introduced the SDR (Spinning Disc Reactor) the phone literally was ringing off the hook. Interest was amazing. We had several orders for systems, but groups which had no money. Ultimately, high processing cost ethanol based extraction batch systems won the day. Even though ethanol destroys terpenes (they go airborne). Or valuable CBD's are filtered out by operators wanting to filter out chlorophyll (green colored components).

Most of these fly-by-night operations went out of business from the huge regulation for large ethanol (flammable) processing plants, and the huge cost of ethanol.

Most of the botanicals industry had a strategy of underselling competitors. This brilliant strategy was mainly deployed in California, where the market collapsed. Infinity has a design for a one-moving-part cavitation pump which greatly reduces wear parts (consumables) and works with liquid CO2. It is not affected by particulates in the liquid.
